My parents have been here for 7 days. Tomorrow they leave us to journey home. :-( It's been nice having them here! Today, Grandma K gives some of her thoughts on Costa Rica...
So my first impression was of the HEAT. The solution, I found, was to jump in the swimming pool, then dress over the bathing suit. Instant air conditioning for several hours.
We did a couple of neat tours. The first was to a national preserve where Macaws live high in the trees. The Howler monkeys demonstrated their deep vocal abilities, which Jacob quickly mimicked. Very cute!
One morning the boys and Larry and I woke to the sound of Howler monkeys in the nearby area. We did not see them, but recognized their voices from the tour the day or two before. The boys awoke with giant eyes, as they sound like a wind storm in the trees.
Oh, and there is the infrequent visit of cows walking the streets. Big bossies with two babies, and one bull. They are the property of the farmer who sold this land for the housing development. However, he did not sell the cows, and lets them wander around. They munch on the neighbors plants. Some have cattle bars so they can not get onto their property. About everyone has tall iron fences around their yards. Nice cows, just odd!
Tonight, we are going to watch the turtles nest on the banks of the beaches. Hope they are compliant and we see lots.
You will have to let us know if you saw the turtles! Sounds like lots of fun creatures to keep the boys entertained! Gma and Gpa T have been dropped at the airport! Have fun!
