In Costa Rica the sun sets at 6:00pm around here every night (and rises at 6:00am) year round as it is closer to the equator and the tilting of the earth doesn't affect the sunrise and set the way it does at home.
We got to sit on the beach and look at the stars. We had two tour guides/drivers and they knew a lot of the constellations too. The boys went straight to work playing in the sand while they waited.
After about 2 hours, they took us to a nest that some babies were hatching out of tonight. It was really neat to see then just come sprouting out of the sand. Our guide held a red light on them and we were allowed to take non-flash pictures.
Then, since we hadn't seen any Momma's coming up to the beach, they took us to another beach to see if there was any there. There was another group at the first beach and they were staying, that way the two tours could be in contact with each other for any action.
We did see a Pacific Green Sea Turtle as she was going back out to sea. Maybe like she didn't like the looks of where she tried to nest, so was turning around to go back and try again somewhere else probably another night. Didn't get a picture as we don't use flash on the turtles and it wouldn't turn out otherwise. But, the boys did get to touch her as she was going out. I did take a picture of her tracks as they were impressive.

So cool for your turtle lovin' fam!!!
