The pool was mostly shallow and we were able to swim to the falls and get up and the rock and walk behind them. There was a small hole that looked like a cave. John thought we shouldn't go back there because there may be a bear. Once I talked him into it, he saw the "cave" was only a hole in the rock that went back about 4 feet. No longer afraid, he had fun looking around behind the falls.
After swimming there most of the morning, we went to lunch and our driver showed us a suspension bridge by the restaurant. The boys liked to look down as they were crossing. Maybe they don't have the same depth perception that adults do? (Or they just don't comprehend how far up they are?) Anyway, they were hardly phased by the height. Unlike the girls...
Then we went to a spa for the afternoon where they paint warm volcanic ash (mud) onto you - for it's healing properties of course! John ran around talking about how this turned him into a zombie. Yes, he's into zombies. Once we were all painted and dried, into the river we went to wash off.
Looks beautiful!....oh, and yes, the volcanic ash is beautiful too! =)
